KINGSTON, Jamaica— Former JLP candidate Peter Sangster who is accused of forging former prime minister Portia Simpson Miller’s signature on a fraudulent waiver was this morning offered  $1 million bail in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

Senior Parish Judge Andrea Pettigrew Collins offered the accused, who is the nephew of former Prime Minister Donald Sangster, bail on conditions that he surrender his travel documents with a stop order in place and report to the Constant Spring Police Station on Mondays.

He was also warned that his bail would be revoked if he attempts to contact the witnesses in the matter after the prosecutor told the court that there were reports of him communicating with a witness electronically.

He will return to court on May 8.
